Are Microgreens Normal Seeds Or Something Different?

Are microgreens normal seeds? That’s a question I get asked quite frequently by newcomers to home gardening. Microgreens, also called dwarf seeds or superfoods, are small, fun, colorful and tasty treats that are grown in soil just like seeds. They come in a huge array of flavors including mint, lemongrass, cilantro, ginger and more. These tiny, sweet seeds have only recently become popular as a natural, sustainable and delicious way to increase your daily nutrition.

We started growing these seeds – which are actually a type of cactus about two years ago in our own backyard. Since then we’ve discovered that they’re some of the easiest plants to maintain, require very little maintenance, require little space and grow much faster than regular seeds. And they’re almost a complete food – only needing a little water to keep them growing, regular feeding with liquid fertilizer and pest control to keep them healthy and disease free. That makes them a great alternative to buying store bought groceries!

We first discovered eating microgreens when our son came home from college and asked for a flavor test. We put two pieces of regular seeds on a plate and took them to our favorite grocery store. The clerk told us that the microgreens had a very mild flavor and weren’t very common in stores. He also added that they weren’t very popular with consumers, so the rest of the store wasn’t likely to carry them in the future.

We tried out several other grocery store brands and found that one of them, Whole Foods, had several varieties. It was hard to tell which were regular seeds and which were the microgreens. I guess it just depends on your preferences. I’ve always been a fan of eating whole foods and adding a little to my meal, but these seeds seemed a bit too exotic. I do like eating microgreens though – now I know why.

If you’re wondering what microgreens are – they are tiny, almost microscopic, brown seeds that look a little like spinach. They come from a plant called Amaryllis and are very common and eaten in many parts of the world. However, because of their size, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) considers them a prohibited pesticide. Because of this they can’t be sold over the counter and must be ordered online.

The good news is that eating microgreens is safe for people who don’t have any type of food allergies or diseases. They are also considered pretty safe compared to regular seeds. The only time you should take special caution with these tiny snacks is if you are pregnant, nursing, or planning to become pregnant. They contain a large amount of iron, which can make you really dizzy. Also if you suffer from any type of heart disease, or high blood pressure, you shouldn’t consume microgreens or any other form of seeds until you talk to your doctor.

I know that it seems silly to even mention this but some people do occasionally suffer from an iron deficiency. Because of this, the FDA has warned that eating microgreens, as well as other types of seeds, can increase your risk of anemia. For anyone with anemia, this is a serious condition and should be treated right away. You should talk to your doctor about this, and if he tells you that you don’t need to change your diet, then eat your microgreens!

In conclusion, eating regular seeds are fine, but there are some foods that are better than regular seeds when it comes to burning fat and building muscle. When it comes to burning belly fat, the best way to go is with a bit of extra protein. If you’re not a fan of beans or nuts, then consider eating regular seeds. The truth is that the best way to burn belly fat is by creating muscle and consuming healthy fats like nuts and seeds is important for this.
